THE POSITION:

We’re seeking a skilled Research Associate (contractor) to support the Lab Automation team in advancing high-throughput biological assays in a cutting-edge laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in basic lab techniques, particularly pipetting, and an understanding of ELISA-based assays.

This a part-time contract position that requires onsite in San Mateo and has potential for extension.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support day-to-day lab operations and assist with execution of automated workflows across multiple assay platforms.
  • Perform manual pipetting to support high-throughput screening.
  • Run ELISA and similar biochemical assays, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility of data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize lab automation protocols and troubleshoot assay performance.
  • Maintain accurate lab records and documentation, ensuring compliance with internal quality standards and procedures.
  • Assist in lab organization, inventory management, and routine equipment maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on lab experience, preferably in a biotech or academic research setting.
  • Proficient in manual pipetting techniques with a strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ELISA and other biochemical assay formats.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
