Our client, an investment firm, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their team in Los Angeles, CA!
Responsibilities:
- Develop Comprehensive Documentation: Create detailed documentation, including process flows, data models, use cases, technical requirements, and user stories, ensuring clarity for development teams and stakeholders.
- Evaluate Business Requirements: Analyze and evaluate business requirements, consulting with various departments to identify opportunities for technical solutions that automate and improve processes. Balance the needs of multiple departments to identify the best solutions and participate in developing strategic plans for systems and applications.
- Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders to ensure understanding of requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Optimize Business Processes: Map, review, and optimize business processes to identify areas for automation and efficiency, recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions with other enterprise systems, such as CRM, Compliance, Accounting, and BI platforms.
- Elicit Technical Requirements: Lead the gathering of technical business requirements through interviews, workshops, and collaborative sessions with internal stakeholders and external technology vendors.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Engage stakeholders, conduct workshops, and collaborate with technical teams to validate proposed solutions.
- Analyze and Document Integration: Evaluate the integration of various enterprise systems (data warehouse, financial reporting, portfolio management systems) and recommend technical improvements.
- Design and Validate Solutions: Work with data architects, developers, and third-party vendors to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with the firm’s data strategy.
- Facilitate Process Design Changes: Conduct complex business and systems process analysis and design, focusing on quality improvement and data management. Develop process improvements, recommend eliminations, integrate new systems, and partner with internal clients and vendors to align with long-term business strategies.
- Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with developers and data engineers to implement requirements, develop test plans, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and guide testers during the QA process.
- Stay Current with Strategies: Use formal and informal communication methods (emails, PowerPoint presentations, executive updates, task lists) to communicate updates and findings. Facilitate project meetings and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Manage Projects: Lead or participate in multiple projects by updating documentation, managing scope, adjusting schedules, determining priorities, ensuring timely delivery, following escalation paths, and managing client and vendor relationships.
- Consult on Training and QA: Advise on procedures related to training, Quality Assurance (QA), testing, and roll-out plans, ensuring alignment between business objectives and software testing.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a business systems analysis or a related technical role.
- Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry, specifically Asset Management.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel).
- Comfort with database/querying tools (e.g., SQL), and PowerBi for data visualization is a plus!
- Strong knowledge of enterprise-level applications (e.g., CRM systems, portfolio management tools, financial reporting systems).
- Strong familiarity with SDLC processes related to both Waterfall and Agile.
- Ability to dissect complex technical and business problems, providing detailed analyses and actionable recommendations (proactive and reactive).
- Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling and prioritizing day-to-day operational requests from various stakeholders.
- Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills.
- Strong ability to adapt to new tools and processes as part of continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organization and documentations skills, with the ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit contributions, stimulate.
- Knowledge of Design Thinking and Agile methodologies is a plus!
